Silas hopped off the train, today was one of the few days so far that summer that he hadn't been scheduled for work- so he had decided on a whim to head to Hogsmeade. He didn't have plans with any friends, or anything specific to do, but Silas had wanted to get out of the house and treat himself to something fun on his day off. Perhaps while he was there he might find Samara a present, as their birthday was just around the corner. He, of course, did not expect to receive one in return, but he liked to get gifts for people, and as they would be turning seventeen- he wanted to be sure that it was something special. Silas, however, didn't have a whole lot of money to work with, as he had been handing over near the whole of his past few paycheques to his parents to help cover things.
But Silas was determined to find something within his price range and still have enough leftover for a train ticket back home. He would be grateful when he could apparate, but he would have to wait to test for his license until after his seventeenth birthday. Commuting was getting to be expensive, apparation was free. Squinting against the sunlight, Silas looked up and down the street, wondering where he should even begin to look for a present for Samara. As they had gotten older Silas wasn't quite so in touch with his sister's likes and dislikes, in fact that summer they had hardly spent any time together at all. Though that was partly his fault, as Silas spent much of his time working.
He had his eye on an open assistant manager position back at the apothecary, and thus was doing all in his power to be an exceptional employee in hopes that his boss would consider him for the promotion. Granted, Silas didn't want to stay there forever, but with that position there would come a much-needed pay raise. He continued to look around, completely unsure of where to start, when his eyes fell upon a familiar face...
